Dating back to the first half of the seventeenth century, the imposing Masseria Ciura, built in the seventeenth century by the homonymous Barons, is an important structure in every sense: For the majesty of its interior spaces and the nature that surrounds it; for its enviable position in the countryside of Massafra, about 7 km from the sea, in a hilly area characterized by Neolithic settlements and rock churches; for the richness of its history, and for over three centuries it has been a witness to important events and a fundamental reference point for the territory.

Taken over in 1958 by Francesco d’Agostino, the Masseria and the connected farm, which has an extension of about 48 hectares planted with citrus fruits, olive groves, and table grape vineyards, today represents a state-of-the-art structure in the field of farms.
Olive oil has been produced since the XVII century and there is still the ancient oil mill with the Genoese presses.

This olive oil is of excellent quality and obtained numerous national and international awards. In addition to the farm’s crops, on the land surrounding the Masseria, there are fruit trees typical of the Apulian territory and aromatic plants of every variety, making the experience of those who visit the Masseria a real journey into the culture of the territory.

To complete this landscape of great beauty, we find a river that crosses the property and a pond, where over the years many species of migratory birds have stopped and where other sedentary species have settled, thus making possible interesting bird-watching activities.
